• 日本におけるCOVID-19感染症流行の影響を評価するため，自殺の超過死亡を検討した。
• 感染症流行前の自殺者数に基づく時系列モデルを用いて，流行初期における自殺の超過死亡を推定した。
• 流行初期では自殺数の明確な増加は観察されず，むしろ男女ともに自殺数の減少傾向が認められた。
